About Us

How We Began

The Sol2Lead program was started as a process for assisting young reserve soldiers and new veterans. After the Afghan war, many soldiers were transitioning out of the Army. While there are many great services that focus on transition and training, none were focused on leveraging the knowledge and insight of established veterans: men and women who served and had made the transition years ago and had already established themselves in their civilian careers. The original focus was to have the established veterans mentor new veterans. As the need developed and grew, it became clear that we needed a national program outside of the military network. One that allowed all Canadians the opportunity to assist our soldiers leaving the ranks. This is the Soldier 2 Leader Mentorship program.
